FIRE TAILED SKINK Morethia ruficauda (Lucas and Frost, 1895)
This 8 cm skink is found throughout the north west quarter of Australia.
This species occurs in a variety of habitats and is usually seen when active during the day, foraging in ground litter.
This insectivorous species is little known, and similar species are found elsewhere within Australia.
