STRIPED SKINK Ctenotus robustus Storr, 1970
A 30 cm lizard, the Striped Skink is found widely throughout South East and Northern Australia. It occupies all types of habitat, particularly grassy country. Usually seen during the day in pursuit of it's insect food, this swift lizard will often take refuge in a well concealed short shallow burrow when pursued. It is active at very high temperatures. An egg layer.
