STEINDACHNER'S GECKO Diplodactylus steindachneri Boulenger, 1885
A 9 cm gecko, it is found throughout most of inland NSW and most parts of Queensland. The Steindachner's Gecko occupies all types of habitat except wet forests. This terrestrial species is usually found active in open spaces at night.
By day it shelters in abandoned insect burrows, cracked mud in floodways, and elsewhere. Breeding biology is not known.
